Scan documents on our new copiers and download them wherever you like!

Next to the possibility to scan documents ‘to USB stick’ on our new copiers (GBIB 1 and GBIB 3), it is now also possible to scan ‘to server’. After scanning, you can download these files from a web application. This new functionality offers you several advantages:

With ’scan to usb stick’, you can only obtain PDF-files, whereas ’scan to server’ gives you the choice between PDF or TIFF.
Did you forget your USB stick? No problem, you can scan!
It’s fast and easy.

What is the procedure?

On the copier (GBIB 1 or GBIB 3), go to:

‘Scannen’ or ‘Wizards’ > ‘Combined Scan Job’
Select ‘Scan to server’
Start scanning
Memorise the copier name (GBIB1 / GBIB3), the date and time you did the scan job.

On your computer, go to:

Your computer must be logged on at CampusNet (http://netlogin.kuleuven.be)
Copy ‘\\ghumprt2.ghum.kuleuven.ac.be\scanner’ into the adress box at the top of your browser
Open directory ‘GBIB’
You can find your file by copier name, date and time (e.g. GBIB1_20090603_102338).

EASILY PRINTING FROM YOUR LAPTOP

Vanaf heden hoef je niet meer naar de pc-klas van de bibliotheek te rennen om documenten af te drukken. Je kan nu in de bibliotheek printopdrachten rechtstreeks van jouw pc naar een van de copiers sturen. Raadpleeg de handleiding om deze copier/printer te installeren.

Tevredenheidsenquête universiteitsbibliotheek / Customer satisfaction survey University Library

Voor de eerste keer ondervragen alle K.U.Leuven bibliotheken hun klanten over de kwaliteit van de dienstverlening. Dit gebeurt aan de hand van een webenquête die men tussen 27 oktober en 9 december 2008 kan invullen. De Universiteitsbibliotheek hoopt op die manier een duidelijker beeld te krijgen van de verwachtingen van haar publiek en van de wijze waarop ze er nu al aan voldoet.

Alle studenten en personeelsleden krijgen per e-mail een uitnodiging om aan de enquête deel te nemen. De vragenlijst is beschikbaar in het Nederlands en het Engels. Wie deelneemt maakt kans op een iPod of op een filmticket. Bij de verwerking van de antwoorden wordt de privacy van de deelnemers vanzelfsprekend gerespecteerd.

De Universiteitsbibliotheek gebruikt bij haar bevraging een gestandaardiseerde vragenlijst. Ze doet daarvoor beroep op LibQUAL+. Deze enquête werd ontworpen door de Association of Research Libraries (ARL). Reeds honderden wetenschappelijke bibliotheken gebruikten LibQUAL+ om bij hun klanten te peilen naar hun mening over de kwaliteit van de diensten. Door deel te nemen aan deze enquête zal de Universiteitsbibliotheek in staat zijn om de resultaten van het Leuvense onderzoek te vergelijken met die van gelijkaardige instellingen in binnen- en buitenland. De Universiteitsbibliotheek K.U.Leuven is de eerste bibliotheek in België die in LibQUAL participeert.

For the first time all K.U.Leuven libraries are asking their users about the quality of their services. By an electronic survey, the University Library hopes to achieve a better understanding of the needs of the library users and the way in which they should be served.

All students and staff members receive an invitation by e-mail to participate to the survey. Participants can win an iPod or one of 50 movie tickets.

This survey draws upon LIBQUAL+, a standarised questionnaire of the ARL (Association of Research Libraries). This makes it possible to compare with similar (inter)national institutions (benchmarking).
